Nu får vi människor erkänna oss besegrade inom ännu ett område. Vi har tidigare uppmärksammat att diverse AI-system lyckats besegra världsmästare i brädspel som schack och go och nu är det dags för nästa steg i utvecklingen. AI-systemet Swift har nämligen lyckats besegra tre av världens bästa drönarflygare, detta i en tävling som anordnades av Zürichs universitet i samarbete med Intel.

Every time Cristiano Ronaldo posts a photo on Instagram, his 500-million followers have to interact with a server to view it. The power required for all those people to see his photo is the equivalent of the power needed to heat two houses for a full year. Now imagine thousands and thousands of photos posted every minute, all the scrolling, googling, streaming… Every action on our electronic devices requires a data center, resulting in a huge consumption of energy and significant greenhouse gas emissions. So, what difference could it make to climate change if data centers transform the way they operate? Lars Schedin, our latest guest on The Switch Podcast, talks to us about how this is possible. Lars co-founded EcoDataCenter in 2016, one of the world’s first climate-positive data centers. Den tyska regeringen kommer att lägga motsvarande 12 miljarder kronor på AI-forskning under de två kommande åren. Det rapporterar Reuters. Det innebär att Tyskland nu satsar dubbelt så mycket pengar på artificiell intelligens som landet tidigare gjort, och tanken är att Tyskland med hjälp av satsningen ska kunna tävla med USA och Kina på området. Satsningen innefattar bland annat att det tillkommer 150 AI-laboratorier på tyska universitet.

In addition to the executives, others from “worker, advocacy, civil rights, and creative groups,” will join as guests, according to Schumer’s office.
