At their recent analyst day held at corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, Calif., Marvell execs made it clear that for them, “AI” didn’t just mean artificial intelligence; it also means accelerated infrastructure. AI is typically categorized either as “traditional” AI or “generative” AI. While existing data center infrastructures have proven to at least be adequate for the current needs of the former, the latter is driving fundamental shifts in data center infrastructure design to address exploding compute, memory and power requirements.
