India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has unveiled an ambitious plan to enhance the nation's AI capabilities. The proposal aims to build a formidable computing infrastructure, comprising high-end compute, inference arm, and edge compute, with a total of 80 exaflops of power. This infrastructure is set to revolutionize AI training and inference in India. Additionally, plans for the India Datasets Platform (IDP) highlight the importance of aggregating and utilizing data for various applications. Despite challenges, this vision positions India for a significant leap in AI innovation.
